Social Media is somewhat of a recent phenomenon that is quickly changing the landscape of online marketing and even traditional marketing. At the heart of Social Media lies Facebook. Facebook is one of the largest Social Media platforms on the internet, with an astounding 800 million active users. This number is expected to top 1 Billion users by August of this year.
With stats like that, how could your business afford not to participate on Facebook!?
Facebook has quickly surpassed all other online platforms and now is recognized as the most visited site in the world, more popular than Google and more popular than YouTube. In its evolution, Facebook introduced the concept of Facebook Pages, which allows businesses like yours to create a presence on Facebook.
A Facebook page is your business’s “mini-site”, where Facebook users can find your business, become a fan of it and interact with it as well. This is really the key, Facebook users want to engage with you and your company to establish trust and reliance.
The old Direct Marketing saying of “People Like To Buy From People They Know And Trust” couldn’t be truer in this day and age. Facebook allows your potential customers to really get to know your brand and get to know what other customers think and feel about your brand.

As customers are seeking this connection, you must provide it to them in the form of a Facebook Page or risk losing out to a competitor. But it’s not just this fear of losing a customer that should inspire you to start with a strong Facebook Page presence, but also the opportunity to gain new customers.
Let me give you an example. Walmart does an update around 5pm or 6pm to their Facebook page with a dinner recipe, people see this and say “I would love to eat this”, and then end up stopping at Walmart to buy the ingredients.
